VisaVisitors from the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and West European countries do not need a visa, only a valid passport and a return ticket. A visa extension in needed for stays longer than three months. This extension costs approximately $10 Dollar. HealthVaccinations
When travelling from areas infected with yellow fever, a vaccination certificate is required. There are no other specific vaccinations recommended. For more information, contact the nearest vaccination centre before departure.

Aruba has experiences several Dengue fever outbreaks, so please check your nearest vaccination centre to make sure you get informed about the right precautions.

Water and Hygiene
It is safe to drink tap water. Milk is pasteurized and dairy products are also safe for consumption. Local meat, poultry, seafood, fruit and vegetables are generally considered safe to eat.

Medical Care
Aruba has excellent medical facilities and many hotels have doctors on call. You are advised to have full medical insurance.

The international access code for Aruba is 297. You must dial an 8 between this country code and the five-digit number that follows.
MoneyCurrency is the Arubian Florin. The US Dollar is also widely used and the locals will accept your dollars even in the smallest towns, but your change will be in florins. The Aruba Florin can not be exchanged outside the island. Aruba has no limitations on import or export of foreign currency. The currency of Surinam is the only prohibited currency in Aruba. Visitors from outside the US can exchange their money at banks.

You can also use credit cards and Traveler's cheques. In that case cheques in US Dollars or Euro are recommended. International debit cards are also accepted by many ATMs.
