Australia is a popular destination for nature, adventure and beach lovers. In the large deserted regions of Australia, there are more than 2000 nature reserves and parks. 12 of them appear on the list of World Heritage Sites. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest and most spectacular coral system in the world. This area offers numerous perfect spots for diving and snorkeling. Along the coastline there are several islands and coral reefs and also a lot of holiday resorts that offer a wide variety of active or relaxing activities.

Great Barrier ReefThe Great Barrier Reef stretches over 2000 kilometres and covers almost 35ha in the north-eastern part of Australia. It provides habitats for many forms of marine life, as well as, providing a major breeding ground for endangered species such as the dugong and green and loggerhead turtles. It offers also the most spectacular dive and snorkel possibilities in Australia.
KakaduThis park is located in the north of Australia, 120km east of Darwin and covers almost 2 million ha. Besides being an important site of biodiversity, the rich natural resources have sustained human habitation for at least 25.000 and possibly 60.000 years. It has natural and cultural values, since it has many Aboriginal sites and large natural galleries of Aboriginal art.
Uluru - Kata Tjuta National ParkUluru - Kata Tjuta National Park covering 133 ha is located in the heart of Australia and is owned by the Anangu Aboriginals. It contains a range of remarkable geological and landform features including the spectacular monoliths of Uluru (Ayer's Rock) and Kata Tjuta (the Olgas).
TasmaniaThe island state of Tasmania is separated by the Bass Strait from the mainland of Australia. The Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage area is one of the largest conservation reserves in Autralia, covering about 20 percent (1,38 million ha) of Tasmania. It is one of only three temperate wilderness areas remaining in the southern hemisphere.
RoundtripsThere are several possibilities for travelling around in Australia. Some bus companies organize roundtrips and camping trips. There are also some organized trips by train. Also travelling by car, motorbike or camper is a perfect way to see the country and gives you the opportunity to do it at your own pace.
CruisesFor those who want to see Australia from coast to coast, there are some world cruise companies that call at several Australian harbours.
Water sportsMost beaches offer possibilities for water sports and diving, especially at the Great Barrier Reef.
