The city Hong Kong has had an agreement with China since 1997. In this agreement it is stated that the socialist economic system of China is not to be maintained in Hong Kong. Furthermore it says that Hong Kong is to enjoy a large measure of autonomy in all matters except Foreign and Defense affairs for the next 50 years. Therefore the State and city of Hong Kong is well known as one of the trade capitols in the world. Nevertheless, the city breathes the typical Chinese atmosphere: Victoria Harbour is the harbour of Hong Kong, which provides a lot of employment. Victoria Peak provides a marvellous view of the harbour and Hong Kong as well. The city is not all about working. On one of the popular beaches, Repulse Bay, sports like windsurfing and sailing can be practised. Other interesting activities in Hong Kong include biking, hiking, fishing and golf. |
