Tourism Attractions

The capital city of the Maldives is Male. Its a quiet, tiny and tidy city filled with mosques, markets and small streets. Seenu is the second city of the Maldives, and the resort here is the best base from which to visit traditional Maldivian island communities. The island of Kudahuvadhoo has a mysterious mound known as hawittas. It is probably a ruin of a Buddhist temple, but it is not thoroughly investigated by archaeologists. Baa Atoll is famous for its handcrafts, which include finely woven cotton felis (traditional sarongs). Interesting activities in the Maldives include surfing, sailing, parasailing, windsurfing, water-skiing, game fishing and night fishing.
