Tourism Attractions

Chinatown is Singapore its cultural heart and still provides glimpses of the old ways with its numerous temples, decorated terraces and shops. The Muslim centre of Singapore is a traditional textile district, full of batiks from Indonesia, silks, sarongs and shirts. Little India is a modest but colourful area of wall-to-wall shops, pungent aromas and Hindi film music. Orchard Road is the area where the high-class hotels predominate. It is also the domain of Singapore its elite, the big shopping centres, nightspots and restaurants. Sisters Islands are good for swimming and, with their nearby coral reefs, are a popular diving spot. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is the largest area of remaining primary rainforest. The park is filled with over 800 species of native plants. Interesting activities in Singapore include shopping, swimming, diving and walking.
